SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The annual Holidays & Heroes Food Drive is set for Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Barney’s Harvest Foods. The day’s event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 11205 E. Dishman-Mica Frontage Road.

For those that cannot make the November 22 event, cash or checks can also be delivered at the Sheriff’s Office Front Desk from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or at the Spokane Valley Police Front Desk from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Donations can also be made via Venmo at @spokaneholidayandheroes.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Explorers, Chaplaincy and deputies will be on site collecting donations to support local families in need this holiday season. The program aims to fulfill Christmas wishes for these families with the help of the community.

Holidays & Heroes is a collaborative effort involving the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Deputies and Spokane County Detention Services Officers. They identify families in need through local schools and bring children shopping for gifts and necessities.

Deputies and officers will pick up children in patrol cars, taking them to Walmart on E. Broadway Avenue to shop for presents. The focus is on providing clothing, toys and small gifts for the children and their siblings.

After shopping, presents and food boxes will be loaded into patrol cars and delivered back to the families, ensuring a warm holiday meal and gifts for the season.

With support from the community and local businesses, Holidays & Heroes aims to assist around 30 local families this year. Community members are encouraged to participate and help make a difference.
