Spokane 311: When and where to call

SPOKANE, Wash. – When you call 311 in city limits, your call is directed to a team of 12 operatives.

“I truly think these are the most informed people in the city,” Communications Director for Spokane Erin Hut said.

In 2025, the 311 system received over 127,000 calls, averaging about 12,000 a month.

The calls deal with a wide range of service requests.

“55% on average, our calls for solid waste and utility billing,” Hut explained.

But residents can also file requests for code or zoning violations, parking complaints, potholes, bike registration and more.

The 311 center is designed to connect callers to the appropriate resources.

The 311 team is not just a call center; they are also trained to resolve requests and keep callers updated on their progress.

“A good portion of these calls, they are able to service themselves,” Hut said.

Residents are encouraged to report issues like stoplights being out, even if they suspect someone else has already called.

“If there’s a problematic area and neighbors come together and make repeated calls, we encourage that,” Hut said.

The efficient handling of calls by the 311 system plays a crucial role in maintaining community services and addressing residents’ concerns promptly.

To report a request, you can dial 311 or use their website.
