ATHOL, Idaho – A TikTok video showing the SpinCycle ride at Silverwood Theme Park stuck upside down has garnered significant attention online. The clip captured the ride halting at its peak, leaving passengers dangling in midair.

Sara Meddock, Silverwood’s Public Relations Manager, clarified the ride was only paused for a few minutes.

“We don’t have an official time, but from researching the situation, we believe 2-3 minutes,” Meddock stated.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and no complaints were registered with the park, according to Meddock.

“SpinCycle is a balanced ride and, occasionally, when the ride is perfectly balanced it can get “stuck” at the top,” Meddock said. “However, the ride has safety features to recalibrate when it detects this occurrence to correct the operation and bring the ride down to its starting position. In this instance, the ride operated as programmed to prevent injury.”

Meddock added that thorough safety checks are conducted at Silverwood on a daily basis, to ensure that protective features like those on SpinCycle are operating at full capacity.

“Safety is of the utmost importance, and it is consistent throughout the season,” Meddock stated.
