South Hill crash sends three to hospital, driver in custody

SPOKANE, Wash. – A crash at the intersection of 49th Avenue and Regal Street on South Hill sent three people to the hospital. According to the Spokane Police Department, an adult woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car.

Two juveniles in the car were also hospitalized. The crash caused the car to hit a tree, and the intersection is closed from 49th to 46th on Regal.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. The juvenile driver fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody. Police suspect the driver may have been intoxicated, though the investigation is ongoing.

A tow truck is en route to clear the vehicle, and the intersection will reopen once the car is removed. Further updates will be available through NonStop Local and the NonStop Local app.
