
EVERETT, Wash. – A Snohomish County jury delivered unanimous guilty verdicts Tuesday against the man charged with killing a Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper near Marysville.
Trooper Christopher Gadd’s vehicle was struck on March 2, 2024, by Raul Benitez-Santana who was driving over 100 miles per hour and impaired on Interstate 5.
Benitez-Santana was found guilty on charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault while under the influence.
In a press release, WSP Chief John R. Batiste extended gratitude to the community for their support following the loss of Trooper Gadd and said the verdict is a step towards safer streets, reflecting his commitment to public safety.
