The International Data Corporation reports that smart devices could see a price increase next year. Major manufacturers are ramping up production for AI data centers, leading to a projected 30% surge in memory prices.
“The lower cost or lower tier of the product, the more that will get passed through to the customer, because the margins are a lot thinner,” a source said.
Many tech companies have already started advertising phones, laptops and other devices with significantly lower memory cards as they shift focus to the AI boom.
