HAYDEN LAKE, Idaho – A small plane crashed Saturday morning in a newer housing development off East Lancaster Road, east of Highway 95.

According to a spokesperson from Northern Lakes Fire Protection District, the plane went down in an area where homes were still under construction, so no residents were in the immediate vicinity. All three occupants were able to get out safely and no injuries were reported.

Northern Lakes said that the plane caught fire after the crash. Fire crews responded around 10:11 a.m. and were able to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Officials could not confirm the make or model of the plane.
