SPOKANE, Wash. – After growing two acres of plentiful carrots, Siemers Farm is offering a weekend of free carrots to anyone who wants them.

The farm is inviting community members to visit on November 15 and November 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a milk-crate sized container to harvest carrots, which participants can take home for free.

“There could be anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 pounds of carrots out here and with everything that’s going on with food scarcity for many local families, we would rather give them away than let them go to waste. They’re perfectly sweet and ready to enjoy!” the farm said in its announcement.

Siemers Farm is located at 11125 E Day Mt Spokane Rd up by Green Bluff. Visitors are encouraged to bring a trowel, gloves, “an open mind and farmer’s spirit.”

The Farm usually sells its carrots, which it says are the Nantes variety and similar to gold fingers, during its .

“We just couldn’t get to the carrots field in time. We were so focused on other property improvements and getting ready for 1,000s of people to come visit; it’s such a whirlwind in October.”
