Showery Monday with more rain to come ☔☔☔

Monday brings more rain and breezy conditions to the Inland Northwest before an even stronger system arrives on Tuesday.

Plan Your Monday

Rain showers will be in the forecast for much of the day, especially south of I-90 around Southeast Washington and in North Central Idaho. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop closer to Spokane and Coeur d’Alene around midday through the mid-afternoon. Scattered showers and the occasional lightning bolt will hang around into the evening in North Idaho. Temperatures will be colder in Idaho, with highs in the 50s, while more breaks of sun late in the day will get temperatures in Eastern Washington to the 60s. Expect southwest winds between 10 and 20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

What We’re Tracking

The weather quiets down overnight and on Tuesday morning, but this is just a short break from the more active weather. A robust cold front arrives Tuesday afternoon, bringing gusty winds between 25 and 40 mph. Another dose of heavy rain could cause standing water in places that saw a lot of moisture this weekend.

As temperatures drop, rain will transition to mountain snow. Mountain passes will be hit hard Tuesday night through Thursday with difficult driving conditions.

Temperatures will be cool enough on Thursday morning that we can’t rule out some wintry precipitation at lower elevations, but that all depends on how fast the midweek storm exits the area.
