SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho – This holiday season, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is partnering with the Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety to prevent impaired driving, according to SCSO. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is now in full swing, focusing on education and enforcement through the New Year.
In 2024, impaired driving was responsible for 36% of traffic fatalities in Idaho, with 86 lives lost. These numbers highlight the importance of the campaign and the role of everyday heroes who ensure safe rides home.
The campaign encourages everyone to take proactive steps to avoid impaired driving. They urge the community to use sober drivers, prevent friends from driving impaired, and plan ahead before drinking.
Sheriff William Eddy of the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office is leading these efforts. For more information, contact him at weddy@shoshoneso.com.
