SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane woman found what appeared to be a bullet hole in her car door after a possible road rage incident.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a reported shooting call on Monday morning.
The woman who made the call stated that she was not injured, but her passenger side door appeared to have been shot.
She explained that she had been driving her green Toyota 4Runner east on 37 Avenue from South Regal Street while a light-gray sedan drove in front of her.
The sedan slowed to about 20 miles per hour, she said, guessing that they slowed after entering a school zone even though the sign had not been flashing. She admitted that she may have driven too close to the sedan at this time because of its slower speed.
Afterward, she said that the sedan pulled over to the side of the road near South Aldo Road and a man inside the car pointed a handgun at her. She continued driving and heard a noise on the passenger side of her car, although she thought it must have been a BB gun because it did not seem very loud.
When she pulled over, she checked her vehicle and found what looked like a bullet hole in the passenger side door of her car.
She described the man from the sedan as white, about 30-40 years old, heavy-set, with semi-long dirty blond hair and dark clothing. She said he was driving a small 4-door, light-gray sedan with Washington license plates.
Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies have asked anyone with information regarding this incident or who can help identify the suspect to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10081460.
