SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are investigating a shooting involving two victims on East Wellesley Avenue early Sunday morning.
As of this afternoon, East Wellesley Avenue is currently blocked off from Pittsburg to Crestline for the ongoing investigation. The area is expected to be closed for at least a couple of hours.
According to SPD, two people were shot. One of those victims has died. They did not clarify the injury status of the victim that is alive.
One neighbor says he and his wife woke up to the gunshot sounds. He also adds that this incident comes after a recent experience with stolen packages from his home.
One nearby business owner says the road closure has resulted in a slow day for them.
SPD has not released the name of the victims. They are holding off until next of kin is notified.
