SPOKANE, Wash. — The Easter Bunny visited Riverfront Park a day early to hide 20,000 eggs for everyone.
And for some kids who appreciate a more sensory experience, the egg hunt did not disappoint.
For the fourth year in a row, Riverfront Park collaborated with the Isaac Foundation to design a sensory-friendly egg hunt for children who may have a hard time with crowds and noisy spaces.
The foundation set up their hunt at the Providence Playscape and welcomed all ages to participate. It ran on 15-minute slots making each egg hunt less crowded, while also emphasizing enough room for each child to be a part of the experience.
Robin Schultz has a son with a rare genetic condition that impacts mobility.
“Being able to have something like this is crucial for him,” Schultz said. “It allows him to be a kid.”
The Isaac Foundation frequently holds sensory friendly events in the community throughout the year.
