WASHINGTON – A press conference is underway where Senator Maria Cantwell and the Mayor of Boise are opposing a proposal in the GOP’s draft budget bill. The bill suggests selling more than 2 million acres and making over 250 million acres of public lands eligible for sale across the American West.
The bill, currently being negotiated in the Senate, would require the federal government to sell or transfer land owned by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. This land is intended for housing development.
Stay informed about the ongoing negotiations and how this proposal might impact public lands in the region.
