Senator Crapo calls for diplomatic solution, applauds Trump administration’s actions in Iran

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued a statement on the Trump administration’s targeted military strikes on Iran.

“Iran has threatened the safety and security of Americans and American allies, including Israel, for decades,” Sen. Crapo said. “It has killed innocent civilians, targeted our troops, hung its own people in public settings, and suppressed innocent Iranian people for far too long.”

“Iran has threatened the safety and security of Americans and American allies, including Israel, for decades. It has killed innocent civilians, targeted our troops, hung its own people in public settings, and suppressed innocent Iranian people for far too long. I have said for years that Iran, as the leading global state sponsor of terrorism, must never be able to develop a nuclear weapon. The murderous regime in Iran has repeatedly demonstrated it is not interested in a genuine, diplomatic and peaceful path forward. President Trump and his Administration took decisive action today to ensure the Ayatollah’s race to nuclear power does not come to fruition. I look forward to receiving further information from the Administration. May God bless the safety and insurmountable courage of our troops–and I hold them, their families and loved ones close in prayer.”
