COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Security guards involved in a February incident at the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee Town Hall are set to go to trial in mid-December.

The guards, who were employed by Lear Asset Management, are facing charges that include battery and false imprisonment related to physical contact with a woman while trying to remove her for disturbing the town hall event.

All defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Among those charged are Paul Trouette, Jesse Jones, Christofer Berg, Russell Dunne and Michael Keller.

The woman involved was initially cited for battery, but prosecutors later dropped the charge. She has since filed a tort claim, alleging her constitutional rights were violated.

Idaho’s Attorney General recently announced he will not pursue charges against Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris, also involved in the incident. The Attorney General’s office stated that Norris’s actions were appropriate and justified under Idaho law.

A motion to dismiss the case exists but its status remains unclear. NonStop Local reached out to Lear Asset Management for comment on the upcoming trial but has not received a response.
