Seattle Reign FC plays three home games in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash — Seattle Reign FC plays three National Women’s Soccer League home games at ONE Spokane Stadium this week while Lumen Field prepares for the Men’s World Cup.

The Reign faces Kansas City Current tonight. Local soccer fans are excited after the Seattle Sounders recently played in Spokane.

“Spokane, show up, show out. Come support,” said Mike Duke, Rogers Pirates girls soccer coach.

“We’re really excited about it. And we wish the reign well,” said Aaron Lewis, programming director for the 90 Plus Project.

Rogers High School girls’ soccer varsity player Jasmin Covarrubias Serrano sees the games as proof professional soccer can succeed in Spokane.

“With the Seattle Rain team coming to Spokane, it’s not something that many people would think would be possible, which clearly it’s been proven wrong,” Covarrubias Serrano said.

The Rogers High School girls’ varsity team will be down on the sidelines working as ball girls for the Reign during the April 4th match against Denver Summit FC.

The Reign plays Racing Louisville FC on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., then Denver Summit FC the following Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
