
SEATTLE, Wash. – On Tuesday, the Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 (SeattleFWC26) Local Organizing Committee named Spokane, the Tri-Cities and Yakima as official “Fan Zones” for the upcoming World Cup.
“These fan zones will bring the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to communities throughout the state, offering fans the opportunity to experience the game-day energy together,” a spokesperson with the Local Organizing Committee said.
In Spokane, Riverfront Park’s Gesa Pavilion has been designated as the city’s official Fan Zone location. Ashley Blake, CEO of Spokane Sports, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity.
“Spokane is honored to host a SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone, uniting our community around the world’s game,” Blake said. “Alongside our partners at Visit Spokane and the City of Spokane, we’re building an electric atmosphere that showcases the spirit of our region.”
The Tri-Cities will have its Fan Zone at the Pasco Sporting Complex. Charles Grimm, Mayor of Pasco, highlighted the city’s connection to soccer.
“Soccer is deeply woven into the fabric of our community, making this an incredible fit for our city,” Grimm said. “We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup together right here in Pasco.”
Yakima’s Fan Zone will be located at the Sozo Sports Complex. Patricia Byers, a Yakima City Council Member, shared the benefits of this event.
“This provides an excellent opportunity to bring our community together for family fun, cultural exchange, and the promotion of health in competitive sports,” Byers said. “Yakima is a very sports minded community that works to develop healthy sporting activities across a wide spectrum of interests.”
