These fraudulent texts demand payment for supposed outstanding traffic tickets and threaten to report individuals to the DMV database, potentially resulting in license suspension.
The department advises recipients to report and block these texts.
The Idaho Transportation Department clarified that they do not send these types of warnings via text. Typically, reminders about unpaid tickets are sent through the mail.
