Sandpoint celebrates $13M expansion of Timberline Helicopters

SANDPOINT, Idaho – The City of Sandpoint celebrated the groundbreaking of Timberline Helicopters’ new $13 million facility on Wednesday.

This expansion is expected to create 24 new jobs, including 20 Airframe and Powerplant mechanic positions, boosting the local economy.

The project was supported by the Idaho Department of Commerce through the Tax Reimbursement Incentive program, which provides tax credits to qualifying businesses. Timberline Helicopters received a nine-year TRI award, highlighting the state’s commitment to economic growth in Sandpoint.

Sandpoint is experiencing a broader aerospace industry growth, with companies like Daher Kodiak and Tamarack Aerospace Group contributing to the city’s economic resilience. Daher expanded its Kodiak aircraft production, while Tamarack celebrated its 200th winglet installation.

Mayor Jeremy Grimm emphasized the city’s dedication to supporting innovation and job creation, stating, “As we witness the continued ascent of Sandpoint’s aerospace industry, the City remains committed to supporting initiatives that drive innovation, create employment opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for all residents.”
