SPOKANE, Wash. – The Salvation Army Spokane is gearing up for its annual Corporate Kettle Kick-Off event, which will take place from Tuesday, November 11 to Thursday, November 13. This event marks the beginning of the 2025 holiday season for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Captain David Cain of the Salvation Army Spokane explained that the Corporate Kettle Kick-Off is a competition between local businesses aimed at raising funds and awareness for the organization’s programs and services in Spokane. This year, 18 local businesses will participate by volunteering to ring bells at local stores or their business locations.

Participating businesses include all nine Banner Bank branches, Central Premix, Eastern Washington University, MultiCare, Nom Nom Convenience Stores, SiteOne, Shine 104.9, Spokane Police Department, The Spokesman Review, and Whitworth University.

Cain emphasized the importance of the Red Kettle Campaign, stating, “The Red Kettle Campaign is the largest fundraiser The Salvation Army hosts each year. We rely upon these vital funds to support our programs all year long.”

The donations raised during this event will support various programs such as Sally’s House and Evangeline’s House, The Nurturing Center, Hope Market, Stepping Stones, After The Bell, The Way Out Center, Cold Weather shelters, Camp Gifford, and Christmas toys and food for struggling Spokane families.

In addition to the kettle campaign, the Salvation Army Spokane is also organizing Angel Trees, which represent children in need. Community members can pick a tag from participating stores like Walmart, Old Navy, or Safeway to fulfill a child’s wish this Christmas.

Those interested in participating or donating can visit makingspokanebetter.org. Donations of new toys and clothing are encouraged, and gifts can be placed in barrels located near the front of participating stores. All toys are due to The Salvation Army by December 15, and kettles will remain out until Christmas Eve.

Cain highlighted the growing needs in the region, noting, “More families are struggling and in need of food. There are less shelter beds for individuals seeking to exit homelessness.” The Salvation Army Spokane aims to address these challenges through their fundraising efforts and community support.
