
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Salvation Army Spokane is set to host its annual “Backpacks for Kids” event, providing free backpacks filled with school supplies for students in grades K-12.
The event will take place on Wednesday, August 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Spokane located at 223 E. Nora Ave. Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while they last.
In addition to backpacks, the event will offer free haircuts, immunizations and a resource fair with over 40 local organizations. Free hotdogs will also be available.
Parents or guardians need to bring a photo ID and proof of children living in the household, such as school registration or a medical card.
