SPOKANE, Wash. — An organization that provides free housing for families with sick children is asking the community for help during its annual Windermere Supply Drive this week.
The Ronald McDonald House is seeking donations of everyday essentials to support families during some of their most challenging times. The organization offers a home away from home for families with sick children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Families can stay at the Ronald McDonald House facility free of charge while navigating difficult medical situations with their children. The nonprofit operates entirely on community donations, making supply drives essential to its mission of supporting vulnerable families.
“Anything that we can do to keep that money towards lights, towards transportation, and so supply drives counterbalance that,” said Trinette Baer-Kowalski, executive director for the Ronald McDonald House.
The supply drive accepts ready-to-go snacks, everyday essentials, and pantry items.
Donations can be dropped off at any Windermere Real Estate office until 3 p.m. Friday. The Ronald McDonald House is also offering a drive-thru option between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday. The facility is located at 1028 W. Fifth Ave., Spokane, WA 99204.
If you are unable to make it to these drop-off options, you can make a donation through the Amazon wish list, found here.
