SPOKANE, Wash. – A significant project in Spokane has improved trail access for local residents. The Washington Trails Association (WTA) professional trail crew collaborated with Friends of the Bluff and Spokane Parks and Recreation to create the Rocket Gulch Stairs.

According to the Washington Trail Association, the project involved installing 85 box steps to connect the High Drive Bluff Park trail system to a nearby neighborhood. This effort aimed to enhance safe trail access for the community.

The WTA’s professional trail crews, who typically maintain backcountry trails, brought their expertise to Spokane for this project. Their work has made a lasting impact by providing locals with safer and more convenient access to the trails.
