SPOKANE, Wash. — Starting Monday, drivers who use Meadowlane Road in Spokane County will have to plan a different route.
According to the city of Spokane, construction will begin to install a J-turn on Meadowlane Road on the west side of U.S. 195.
The city says this will provide acceleration and deceleration lanes to improve safety, reduce congestion and help prepare the area for future growth.
Starting Monday, drivers will not be able to access Meadowlane Road on the west side of U.S. 195 from southbound U.S. 195. Drivers will need to exit at Cheney-Spokane Road, travel south to Cedar Road, and continue to Eagle Ridge Boulevard.
Meadowlane Road drivers on the east side of U.S. 195 will still have access to northbound and southbound U.S. 195.
The city says the closure will last for about 30 days. The whole project is expected to be completed by mid to late July.
