SPOKANE, Wash.– Inlander Restaurant Week is getting underway tonight and local business are excited to bring in new customers.
This year’s Restaurant Week aims to give back to the people working behind the scenes as well.
Over 100 restaurants from Spokane to North Idaho will be participating in Restaurant Week this year.
Each will serve a three course meal ranging from $25 to $45.
This is Loren’s third time being part of restaurant week and its owner is excited for all of the new customers that will be coming in.
“During restaurant week, we get a whole bunch of new people that are just coming to try us and it’s a lot of fun,” Loren’s owner Juli Norris said, “it’s a lot of fun to get to meet them and to get to know them and bond with them and create more regulars.”
The organizers behind restaurant week say they plan the event to give local businesses a boost during a usually slow time for them.
“Right after Valentine’s Day, everyone is like, ‘we just went and celebrated.’ so restaurant week comes at a great time to remind people that are ready to go back out and enjoy restaurants again,” Norris said.”
Restaurant Week is also looking to give back to the workers in the hospitality industry this year by supporting Big Table and CDAID.
Both organizations help workers with medical expenses, or anything they might need to continue working.
There will be QR codes on every restaurant menu to donate and STCU will be matching all of the donations that come in during Restaurant Week.
Restaurant Week Event Director Tamara McGregor said, “these two organizations really help hospitality workers who don’t have the safety nets under them that a lot of people do. They might not have insurance, they might not have access to dental care or vision care.”
McGregor hopes this week will give people more reasons to support local business.
The event runs through March 7th.
