WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Michael Baumgartner representing Eastern Washington announced today that “Coug Day at the Capitol’ will be postponed due to the ongoing government shutdown.
The event was planned to highlight and recognize Washington State University ahead of their October 18 game against the University of Virginia. It was set to include a Capitol tour led by Baumgartner, a gathering for students at his office and insight into the legislative process.
“The closure of the Capitol Visitors Center and limited building access as a result of the shutdown have necessitated postponing the event,” according to a press release from Baumgartner’s office.
The representative’s office also said that despite the circumstances, any WSU fans visiting D.C. are welcome to stop by at 124 Cannon House Office Building.
