Rancid smelling flower blooming in Manito’s Gaiser Conservatory

SPOKANE, Wash –It’s a stinky situation in Manito Park! A Voodoo Lily is in full bloom at the Gaiser Conservatory.

The beautiful, but smelly flower is described as smelling like “rotting flesh” or “spoiled meat”.

The rancid smell is designed to attract pollinators, such as flies and beetles.

According to Spokane Parks and Recreation, the flower only blooms for a couple of days, so if you want to take a whiff, you should stop by soon.
