OLYMPIA, Wash. – A puppy in Olympia was revived with Narcan after potential exposure to fentanyl last week. Police responded to a medical evaluation of a woman stopped by officers when they discovered the eight-week-old Chaiweenie mix, unresponsive in the vehicle with fentanyl present.

A paramedic administered a small dose of Narcan to the puppy, and it woke up within minutes. Officials reported that the pup, named Lazarus, even began licking people afterward.

The dog’s owner was arrested on animal cruelty charges. An adult dog found in the same car will also be up for adoption soon.
