Puppy found dead in a box underneath viaduct in Pullman, police investigate

PULLMAN, Wash. – A box containing a dead puppy was found under a viaduct in Pullman. Now, Pullman police are asking for information about the puppy’s abandonment and death.

The puppy was deserted in the last 24 hours, the City of Pullman Police Department said on Wednesday.

The department said the puppy was female, mixed breed and about eight to twelve weeks old. It had been left under a viaduct near the City Playfields in a cardboard box with a blanket.

The puppy’s cause of death is unknown, the department said.

The department uploaded photos of the blanket and the cardboard box, asking if anyone recognized them.

It asked anyone with information about the case to call Code Enforcement at 509-334-0802 and reference case #26-P00932.
