Pullman police look for early-morning shooting suspect

PULLMAN, Wash. – Pullman Police responded to a shooting this morning that left a 19-year-old with a gun wound to his abdomen.

The shooting was reported at 1:47 a.m. on September 21 in the 3100 block of Northwest Cottonwood Lane.

The victim was a 19-year-old Pullman man, who was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital by the Pullman Fire Department. He is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Pullman Police Department.

Investigation into the shooting is still underway and Pullman police have identified a person of interest.

They asked the public to look for their person of interest, Jakori C. Buchanan.

Buchanan is described as a 20-year-old black man, five feet and seven inches tall and 143 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Pullman police believe that Buchanan left the scene of the crime in a grey 2025 Hyundai Sonata with Minnesota plates REW514.

He may be traveling to the Seattle area with companions and should be considered armed and dangerous, said the police.

The Pullman Police Department asked anyone with information on Buchanan, his car or the incident itself to call them immediately.
