PULLMAN, Wash. – The city of Pullman is updating residents on the progress of the Pine Street Pedestrian Bridge restoration in the downtown district.

The bridge, which was dislodged by flooding in February, is set to be moved back to its original location this week.

The city has hired a contractor for the project, with a bid of approximately $20,000.

Crews have started preparatory work under the bridge today, and the construction company plans to lift the bridge back into place using an inflatable balloon system tomorrow around noon.

Due to the ongoing construction, parking along Pine Street Plaza and a portion of the Bill Chipman Trail near the bridge is currently closed.

After the bridge is repositioned, city crews will inspect it and prepare for phase three of the restoration as early as next week.
