Pullman firefighters responded to 62 calls during 48 hours of windstorms

PULLMAN, Wash. – During a 48-hour period of the , the Pullman firefighters responded to 62 calls for service related to winds.

Pullman Firefighters Local 1892 shared the statistic on Facebook on December 18. It said several of the calls were medical emergencies requiring ambulance transport to Pullman Regional Hospital and Sacred Heart Medical Center.

For the final five hours, the department relied on aid from Whitman County Rural Fire District 12 due to a need for more resources, Pullman Firefighters said.

“We extend a sincere thank you to all of our Mutual Aid partners for their continued partnership, and to our community for your patience, understanding, and support during this demanding event,” Pullman Firefighters wrote.
