Providence partners with Jewels Helping Hands

SPOKANE, WASH. Jewels Helping Hands, the organization that runs homeless shelters across Spokane will partner with Providence to provide medical care at the shelters.

According to the organization, Providence will have dedicated medical staff at all shelter locations. A medical assistant will be assigned to each shelter and be supported by a Providence nurse practitioner who will make regular rounds.

Jewels Helping Hands says the medical services will include everything from wound care to medication management, blood pressure checks to connecting people to long-term primary care.

The organization opened Jewels Healing Hearts Medical Respite inside the Westminster United Church of Christ at 4th and Washington in downtown Spokane.

In September of 2025 the city of Spokane awarded Jewels Helping Hands a $1.7 million contract to operate the city’s scattered shelters.
