SPOKANE, Wash. – Providence Medical Group, which began prohibiting most visitors under the age of 18 from its hospitals and clinics in Spokane and Stevens Counties with a policy change on January 7, announced Thursday that some of those restrictions would be lifted.
The decision to modify visitor guidelines comes after Providence initially said it would consider lifting restrictions in the spring of 2026.
According to the new policy, visitors over the age of 12 will be allowed to visit “various departments across our Providence hospitals in Spokane and Stevens counties,” effective February 5, with the exception of the NICU at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital.
