SPOKANE, Wash. – Protests are planned nationwide, including in Spokane, as part of the No Kings rallies opposing President Trump and his policies on June 14, his birthday.
The protests coincide with the Spokane Pride Parade and Festival at Riverfront Park. The No King’s website lists multiple protest locations, including cities across Montana and Idaho.
In Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Sheriff Bob Norris emphasized the importance of peaceful assembly.
“The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects the right of individuals to peacefully assemble and express their views,” he said. “If you choose to participate in a protest or counter protest in our community, I ask that you do so peacefully, respectfully, and lawfully.”
Sheriff Norris also warned of a swift and lawful response if protests turn violent.
