Protesters rally in Spokane against U.S. airstrikes on Iran, criticize Trump’s foreign policy

SPOKANE, Wash. – Protesters have gathered in Riverfront Park to demonstrate against President Trump and the United States’ involvement in Iran.

NonStop Local crews on the scene reported that around 70 to 100 people attended the protest. The demonstration comes in response to the , including the dropping of 30,000-pound bombs on nuclear sites Saturday, raising questions about the status of Tehran’s nuclear program and how its military might respond.

“The warmongering and lawless administration in Washington is solely and fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of its act of aggression,” , adding that he would immediately fly to Moscow to coordinate positions with close ally Russia.

The Trump administration said it wants to restart diplomatic talks with Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters that the U.S. “does not seek war” with Iran. However, Tehran said the time for diplomacy had passed and that it has the right to defend itself.

President Trump earlier warned there would be additional strikes if Tehran retaliated against U.S. forces. “There will either be peace or there will be tragedy for Iran,” said Trump, who acted without congressional authorization.
