OLYMPIA – The Office of the Secretary of State certified the 2025 August Primary results on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Deputy Secretary of State Randy Bolerjack reported more than 1.2 million voters participated, marking a 28.6% turnout of eligible voters.
For the first time, the ballot return statistics webpage tracked 17-year-old voters’ participation.
Washington’s Future Voter program allows 16- and 17-year-olds to register, and 17-year-olds turning 18 before the general election can vote in the August primary. Of these future voters, 16.9% voted.
The certification also confirmed the candidates advancing to the November ballot.
For positions in the primary, the top two vote-getters will appear on the general election ballot. Other positions will be decided by lot draw order.
Ballots for the Nov. 4 General Election will be mailed by Oct. 17.
Washingtonians can still register to vote online or by mail until Oct. 27.
In-person registration is available at county elections offices until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
