President Trump has remained tight-lipped about potential military action against Iran.
The president has warned that the U.S. could resort to military measures if a nuclear deal isn’t reached. This echoes previous threats made during Iran’s crackdown on anti-government protests.
In a statement, President Trump said, “I certainly can’t tell you that, but we do have very big, powerful ships heading in that direction, as you know,” said President Trump.
The president emphasized the possibility of a negotiated deal, stating, “If you could make a negotiated deal that would be satisfactory with no nuclear weapons, that they should do that, but I don’t know that they will,” said President Trump.
As discussions continue, the U.S. is increasing its military presence in the region. This includes moving the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the northern Arabian Sea to support any potential decisions by President Trump.
