Post Falls to design plans for new Public Works Center

POST FALLS, Wash. – Post Falls City Council passed a contract with Integrus Architecture to begin designing a new Public Works Operation Center. The City said that this marks a major milestone in their long-term plan to transition Public Works operations off of leased space at the Water Reclamation Facility.

The contract cost the city $721,707, which will be used to develop design and will bring together several Public Works divisions currently working at separate locations across the city. The funding will be drawn from the general fund facilities reserve account, the Water Capital Fund and the Water Reclamation Fund.

The location for the new design is a 9.5 acre city-owned site at Hargrave Avenue, east of Pleasant View Road.

Phase one of the project, the only phase funded so far, includes an operations shop for Water Division, heated storage for Streets, support space for Streets, Water and Fleet operations staff and office space for Public Works administrative support staff. The design will also include services like roadway and utility connections.

Integrus is an architecture firm based in Spokane and designs buildings ranging from government embassies to university science buildings.

The Operations Center project has been an objective since the City’s 2021 Facilities Needs Assessment.
