SPOKANE, Wash. – Several Spokane residents reported their Ring cameras captured porch pirates in action over the weekend.
In one instance, a person dressed in a vest resembling an Amazon delivery uniform was seen taking a package. Amazon advises customers to contact the police first if they experience package theft.
In Washington, package theft is classified as a Class C felony, which could result in two to five years in prison.
“This can be very traumatizing for some customers,” said an Amazon spokesperson. “So, number one call police right away because this is a crime. They contact our customer service team which is available 24/7. So that way we can help them to the best of our ability.”
Victims of porch piracy in Spokane reported receiving full refunds for their stolen packages.
