SPOKANE, Wash. – Police responded to a double homicide at the Hart Terrace apartments in Spokane Tuesday evening.
Lieutenant Jay Kernkamp said Spokane police responded to reports of a man with a knife in the area shortly after 5 p.m.
Spokane police confirmed one person was stabbed and gunshots were heard following a fight involving multiple people. As of about 9 p.m., police said they believed they had accounted for everyone involved.
Police found two people who were hurt at the scene, and both died from their injuries.
One suspect was taken into custody and there is no threat to the public according to Spokane police.
Police continued to investigate and asked people to avoid the area.
