KENNEWICK, Wash. – A multi-agency operation targeting human trafficking led to search warrants at illicit massage parlors in Kennewick and Othello.
According to a release, the Kennewick Police Department (KPD) raided Asian Wellness Spa, while the Othello Police Department (OPD) and Homeland Security Investigations agents served a warrant at Health Land Massage today.
Using citizen complaints and covert operations, investigators said they discovered ongoing prostitution-related crimes and that a 64-year-old owned both establishments, indicating an organized network of illegal activities.
During the operation, OPD said three victims of human sex trafficking were provided access to the Support, Advocacy & Resource Center (SARC), NewHope of Moses Lake and HSI Victim Services.
Investigators also seized evidence of illicit activities, thousands of dollars in illegal proceeds and one vehicle, the release said.
The owner was arrested and is expected to be booked on charges of Promoting Prostitution in the Second Degree and Permitting Prostitution.
Charges will be forwarded to prosecutors in Adams and Benton Counties.
