
PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced a ban on outdoor debris burning in Pend Oreille County, effective 12:01 a.m. on June 6,.
Burning with a DNR permit remains permissible, provided all conditions on the permit are met, the Pend Oreille County Sheriff said in a release.
Campfires are allowed only in designated campgrounds and recreational fires on improved property are permitted under specific conditions.
DNR said these fires must be attended at all times, not exceed three feet in diameter and two feet in height, and have a charged hose or five gallons of water and a shovel nearby. Additionally, a non-combustible surface of at least three feet must surround the fire.
Gas and propane self-contained stoves and barbecues are allowed.
