Pedestrian killed by driver in Spokane Valley, driver to face vehicular homicide charge

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – One person died after they were hit by a car at State Route 27 and E. Desmet Ave.

Washington State Patrol said the victim was walking when a car driving north on State Route 27 hit them. The incident happened at 1:23 a.m. on Saturday.

The person was reported dead at the scene.

State Patrol said the car continued driving north after hitting the person.

The 35-year-old driver of the car was not injured and was charged with vehicular homicide.

The incident is under investigation by State Patrol.
