SPOKANE, Wash. – MultiCare Health System reported that more than 500 medical assessments have occurred at Hoopfest as of Saturday at 4 p.m.

Medical providers noted a range of injuries, including nine fractures, seven achilles ruptures and eight knee injuries. Additionally, there was one dislocation, one concussion, three cases of dehydration, 77 strains and sprains, 21 lacerations, 152 wounds and seven blisters.

Kevin Maloney from MultiCare Health System mentioned that while the number of injuries has decreased compared to 2024, the severity of these injuries has increased.

“As we head into tomorrow, the temperatures will be rising. MultiCare would highly encourage people to stay well-hydrated, and look for shade whenever possible for day two of Hoopfest,” Maloney said.
