Rivers Dahlias, a flower farm based in Veneta, Oregon, recently named a new dahlia variant after Kaylee Jade Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students murdered in 2022.
The Kaylee Jade Dahlia is a purple flower that grows to 4 to 6 inch blooms on a 4.5 foot plant, according to Rivers Dahlias.
“It is an absolute privilege and honor that the Goncalves Family came to River’s Dahlias to collaborate on a dedication for their lovely daughter, sister, and friend,” Rivers Dahlias wrote on its website.
The flower retails for $35.00, and is already sold out as of November 23.
Flaming Acres Farm, based in Idaho, also shared a post about the Kaylee Jade Dahlia on social media.
“As an Idaho dahlia grower, Flaming Acres Dahlias stands with the Goncalves family in their mission to remember, respect, honor, and educate others about Kaylee Jade forever,” Flaming Acres Farm said.
