SUNSET HILL, Wash. — Deputies are investigating a rollover crash early Wednesday morning that sent three people to the hospital, including one with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1 a.m. to a crash near West Hallett Road and South Mayflower Street, along with officers from Airway Heights and Cheney police departments.
Deputies said that after an initial investigation, they found the truck was traveling east at a high speed when the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to leave the roadway, hit a fence and damage a nearby home.
Deputies said they found the truck on its side when they arrived. Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District 3 and AMR medics treated the driver, who was ejected from the truck and suffered life-threatening injuries. One passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while another was treated and later released from the hospital.
Deputies believe the driver and one passenger were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. They said if the driver is released from the hospital, they could face felony vehicular assault charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
