Olympia legislators delay vote on urban camping restrictions

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Legislators in Washington state are weighing a bill that would restrict local law enforcement from enforcing anti-camping laws when there is no other adequate shelter available.

A vote to advance the bill, which is still in committee, was scheduled for Tuesday. However, it no longer appears on Tuesday’s agenda and is expected to be rescheduled for next week.

According to the Spokesman-Review, some Spokane city council members believe the bill would affect the city negatively.
