OMAK, Wash – Okanogan County will be looking for a new sheriff.
Sheriff Paul D. Budrow announced Friday he’s stepping down to become police chief in Twisp.
“As an elected official, the Sheriff’s position does not provide insurance benefits,” Budrow wrote. “Ensuring healthcare coverage and financial stability for my family became a responsibility I could not set aside.”
Budrow called his three and a half years of service “one of the greatest honors” of his professional life.
